I was told that the big battery model has larger front brakes, 340 x 27 so you have to use 19" rims or larger.
Can anyone confirm this?

I know that the 170 kw eBoost Borns are equipped with the larger breakes and 19“ rims.
correct,
all eBoost equipped Born (58kWh as well as 77kWh batterie) are provided with 340 x 27 disks on front axel.
They are also provided with 19" rims on stock.
But not sure, if they really need 19" rims, because 340 x 27 disks are also part of ID.4 / skoda enyaq and these were provided with 18" steel rims, when they have small batterie

How you can read in the technical specifications at cupraoffical.com:
ZitatCupra Born 58
Standard front CUPRA brakes
330x23 mm disc brakes
ZitatCupra Born 58 and 77 with e-Boost
Standard front CUPRA brakes
340x27 mm disc brakes
But the 19" rims are in my opinion not technical required. At my BMW 530d i got brake discs 374x36 mm with 18" rims.
